Prologis, in collaboration with ACCIONA Energía, is driving an innovative shift toward a cleaner and more collaborative energy model through the creation of solar communities. This pioneering project transforms the rooftops of Prologis buildings into solar plants that generate 100% renewable energy, supplied to both customers and nearby residents through shared self-consumption subscriptions. Prologis is developing 10MW of state-of-the-art photovoltaic installations across six of its assets located in Madrid and Barcelona. This model offers maximum flexibility for clients, allowing them to choose the amount of energy they wish to consume, aligning it with their decarbonization goals and the specific needs of each facility. The six projects will prevent the emission of 2,426 tons of CO₂ annually. In addition to significantly cutting CO₂ emissions and supporting the decarbonization of the logistics sector, it also provides direct savings on electricity bills for local communities and promotes energy justice. Prologis strengthens its role as a key player in the energy transition within the sector.
